Remembrance Day Poppy & Lesson

Remembrance Day honours our armed forces members who have fought and died in the line of duty. November 11 is an important day for all Australians, and we would love to help you to share the importance of this day with your students. This year we have created a short, informative PowerPoint Presentation that you can download here.

Wearing a red poppy is a traditional way to commemorate Remembrance Day in Australia, so as we have done in previous years, we also have printable paper poppies below.

Instructions:

• Download and print the black and white sheet of poppies here. There are four poppies per page.
• Distribute one poppy per student and encourage them to colour the poppies red.
• Have each student cut out their poppies.
• Then it’s just a matter of pinning or taping them onto your students’ shirts.
