Magnetic Letters

At Get Reading Right we are constantly asked about magnetic letters and where they are available. Well look no further; we now produce our own sets of Basic Code magnetic letters. You can tell they were made by teachers, for teachers:

1. The letters cover the same phonemes that are taught in Sets 1A and 1B. 
2. They include digraphs – the letters are linked together to help reinforce the logic that sometimes one phoneme can be represented by two letters.
3. All the letters are blue (unlike other mixed colour magnetic letters – ‘real’ writing is only ever in one colour!) and in Sassoon Primary Infant font to ensure consistency of the message given in children’s writing and phonics lessons.
4. It is designed to prevent individual pieces of the set from getting lost – children insert the pieces back into the board.
5. There is an additional letter ‘s’ so children can make plurals.
6. There is a tick included in the set so children can put it next to a correctly spelled word.
7. The back of the letters are 100% magnetised so the magnets won’t drop off.
