Get Reading Right
Get Reading Right, by teachers for teachers, the fun and multi-sensory reading and spelling program that gets impressive results fast. With synthetic phonics at the core of a balanced literacy program you will see the benefits to every child’s reading and writing. Our vision is in our name!Using synthetic phonics, schools have achieved results that have attracted glowing reviews from both television and newspapers. But
Research by every English language speaking country has shown the fastest and most effective way to teach every child to read and spell is using synthetic phonics. In Australia, The National Inquiry into the Teaching of Literacy recommended "an early and systematic emphasis on the explicit teaching of phonics". Plus, the new National Curriculum will also have phonics at its core in the literacy strand.
In England the approach is now mandatory in every primary school - the evidence for synthetic phonics was that strong.
Look at the evidence for synthetic phonics.
We’ve seen synthetic phonics work, for every child, time and time againGet Reading Right was set up in 2005 after co-founders Jo-Anne Dooner and Michael Wood trialed the approach with four classes from the first year of a school. Two classes were taught using traditional phonics, and two used synthetic phonics. After four months the trial was called off; those children in the control group were just too far behind the synthetic phonics group - the school had to implement the program across the board.
Since those first classes the team at Get Reading Right has helped set up thousands of schools across the globe and seen this success time and time again. The program is in a growing number of leading Australian schools, over a thousandschools in the UK and 80% of Hong Kong international schools.

the most important judges are the teachers and the children who are delighted by the progress that all children make. This is especially so amongst the groups that often fall behind and underperform: second language children, boys and those with some difficulties of learning.
